I Need To Rest…

I took this photo of a dragonfly resting (well, I think it’s resting) a month ago. This is a crop of a photo taken at 200mm – approximately 2 meters from the subject.

This was part of a set of photos I took a couple of days back. This was one of a very few that turned out sharp enough — low light and my caffeinated hands ruined quite a few of them.

This was taken at a farm next to a vineyard in the north eastern part of Thailand. I was on a photo-trip with a few of my friends… we didn’t get to a lot of different places, but we had a good amount of time to shoot at each place we visited. I hope we can arrange quite a few good photo trips in the year ahead…

Tiger Spots Prey

Hey wait a second! I’m not prey!

This was scariest I’ve ever felt while taking a picture. We were at an open safari. We parked the car just beside the road to take some pictures of the Tiger snacking. Well, it saw us, and stared at us… and headed slowly toward us. The park ranger honked his jeep and drove towards our car, driving the Tiger away.

This picture was taken at 55mm focal length, so you can imagine how close the Tiger was. It was the end of our drive through the open zoo… I drove right out of there pretty quickly.

The picture was taken around 30 minutes past noon. I think this beautiful creature was trying to keep itself cool by swimming. Btw, it was my first time seeing a polar bear. This image was cropped and resized but no other post processings were done.

Face to face, out in the heat - Hanging tough, staying hungry.

The picture was taken through a fense where each metal wire is only about 1.5 inches apart. It was taken at 300mm focal length and manual focus, allowing the lens to remove the metal fense from the view. I was just a few meters away from this tiger. It was playing in a small pond, probably trying to cool down from Thailand’s summer heat, when it noticed me snapping some shots. It walked over and stared at me.
