The Cathedral is almost 300 years old and was built to accommodate the influx of Christian Vietnamese who arrived in Thailand to escape religious persecution. This is one of the largest churches in Thailand and has been renovated a number of times – the last major renovation was done in 1909.

This picture was taken at the top of Khao Takiap, a hill south of Hua Hin, Thailand. It was 6:50 pm to be exact, and I decided to go with a long exposure (25 seconds) for this picture. No post processing was done (apart from the resizing of the image).

People usually go to this place to take photos of the Hua Hin town (this hill overlooks the Hua Hin town and the beach), and people hardly pay attention to this little shrine.

A Walk In the Historical Park

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ayutthaya’s historic temples are scattered throughout this once magnificent city and along the encircling rivers.  (This was taken at focal length: 51mm with exposure time of 1/160 sec. )

At this particular time, there weren’t many people around, and the walk in this historical park has a ghastly feel to it.

The Temple Across the Stream

It was a warm day, and I was thankful to be under the shades of a very old tree that stood proud just across the stream from this beautiful temple. Unlike in Bangkok, the water was clean and free of toxic odors, this Ayutthaya temple was quiet and free of commericalization. This view of the temple from behind the leaves of this great tree had to be captured.

The photo was resized but no other post processing was done.

Sunset at the Ruins

These ruins of Ayutthaya is a ‘must-visit’ site when you are around central Thailand…. at least that’s what many people told me.  It was almost 6 pm when I got there, just enough light to shoot a few quick pictures before they kick us out.
